About the role
We are looking an experienced Senior Account Executive: a capable and confident operator who has learnt most of the required basic media and communication skills and who has a good understanding of the media tools available to create the required media coverage in all PR areas. This individual will also manage one account executive, whilst ensuring that all campaign plans are carried out efficiently and effectively.
Your specific tasks will be very varied and will cover the whole PR and communication mix. We are happy to receive applications from candidates who have experience in any of the following: travel, lifestyle and F&B PR, or a combination of the three.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and DELIVERABLES
- Understand the deliverables for each of your clients, KPIs and the project plan, and keep on top of what is being delivered.
- Using your initiative to identify any possible problems or concerns on any client and flag internally before the client raises a problem.
- Support the account team with implementing the communication strategy (PR plan)
- Develop and sustain relationships with clients. Establish strong working relationships with clients and feel confident making recommendations.
- Lead portions of client calls and meetings Media Relations
- Research and draft content for clients (for example: press releases, pitches, media briefing documents, etc.).
- Keep your director updated about how each client is doing each month (for example: checking KPIs)
- Providing support and guidance to junior members of the team.
- Draft story pitches and pitch press releases and feature ideas.
- Secure and manage interview opportunities with key journalists for client spokespeople – in person or over the phone – and facilitate these interviews as appropriate.
- Speak to journalists regularly to develop relationships. Attend journalist meetings.
- Monitor media coverage and help spot opportunities for clients.
- Organize, invite and host press trips.
- Oversee reports, delivering them in a timely manner.
- Activity calendar creation and management (aka forward planner), including owning reporting and delivering in a timely manner
- Actively participate in creative brainstorming and pitch development, coming up with fresh ideas for PR campaigns
- Remain up-to-date on and share news on trends in the industry as well as those impacting your clients by following relevant blogs, websites, influencers, newsletters, etc.
CAPABILITIES
- An understanding of the strategic running of multiple PR campaigns, including
- planning, campaign implementation
- Solid media contacts – and experience in how to leverage them
- The ability to generate ideas with an ROI and think creatively
- Impeccable organizational skills and are adept at reporting and day-to-day admin tasks
- The ability to develop pitches and work with targeted media on story development
- Being a team player – working alongside senior management on the growth and development of the more junior members of the team and happy to pitch in, where necessary
- The ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, to prioritise and work under pressure
- Networking across the industry
- Flexibility – happy to work on multiple clients and with different team members as the need arises
ABOUT YOU
- You are passionate about the travel, leisure and lifestyle luxury industry
- You have excellent communication skills: both written and verbal.
- You are a team player with great collaboration skills and will contribute willingly to the wider team goals
- You are creative and enthusiastic : all ideas gratefully received and you demonstrate an interest in issues and areas beyond your immediate scope
- You have excellent attention to detail and are able to multi task – working effectively under pressure
- You have experience working in a PR agency, press office or fast-paced media environment
- Languages – such as French or Spanish – would be useful – but not essential.
HOURS
- Blended, flexible working (4 days a week in the office during probation, thereafter 2 days at home/3 days a week minimum in the office) with beautiful offices in Borough Market 5 minutes’ walk from the London Bridge transport hub
- Normal office hours are 9:00am – 5:30pm. However, team members are often expected to attend events outside of regular hours.
